The Zanzibar Spatial Data Infrastructure (ZanSDI) Portal is designed to support the management, discovery, and sharing of spatial data across Zanzibar. The platform provides a centralized environment where government institutions, organizations, and stakeholders can access reliable geospatial information to support planning, decision-making, and service delivery.
The portal hosts the National Geospatial Database, which integrates spatial datasets from multiple government institutions and makes them available through standardized services and tools. By improving data availability and interoperability, ZanSDI helps ensure that spatial information can be efficiently used across sectors.
ZanSDI also aims to promote innovation, transparency, and collaboration by enabling wider access to geospatial information for public institutions, researchers, private sector organizations, and the general public.
The system is managed by the ZanSDI Team within the Zanzibar Planning Commission (ZPC), which coordinates the development, maintenance, and governance of the national spatial data infrastructure.
